Estonia and Brazil concluded their first trade agreement in 1932, just 12 years after Estonia had first gained its independence which established diplomatic relations between the two countries to some extent. However, the official diplomatic relations between the two countries were established shortly after Estonia regained its independence in 1991.
Since the beginning of mutual trade and diplomatic relations, Brazil has become the biggest trading partner for Estonia from South America.
In the summer of 2011, Brazil opened its first embassy in Tallinn.
Estonia first opened its embassy in Brazil in 2014, however, it was unfortunately closed in 2017. Today, Estonians living in Brazil or Brazilians interested in Estonia must either contact the four honorary consuls living in Brazil or travel to another country where Estonia has its embassy to get consular services.
This is also the reason why it took some time for the e-Residency card, which empowers foreign entrepreneurs to do business in Estonia and across Europe, to reach the Brazilian and Latin-American market. It wasn’t until May 2021 that the new e-Residency card pick-up point in São Paulo, Brazil was launched.
This has made the e-Residency card more accessible for entrepreneurs located in the LATAM region, thus enabling them to establish and manage their Estonian businesses more easily.
Considering the fact that the Estonian e-Residency team is making efforts towards connecting Brazil and Estonia further, Incorporate has started to focus on the Brazilian market as well.
In relation to e-Residency launching a pick-up point in Brazil, there were multiple events held in São Paulo and one Florianopolis by the e-Residency team and Startup Estonia in February 2022. Our team member Kristjan attended one of the events. Meet Kristjan – Incororate’s representative in Brazil.
Incorporate’s page and assistance in Portuguese

However, we still offer our full support to establish and manage an Estonian business with the use of Power of Attorney’s or personal visits to Estonia.
Incorporate is here for you and your business!
We now provide full-service for our clients in Portuguese and as a part of our mission to bring Estonia and Brazil closer together, we are offering a free consultation to Brazilian entrepreneurs between 01.07.2022 and 01.08.2022 to introduce the Estonian business environment.
